Here’s what to expect when we reopen our doors on Monday 27th July 2020
We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to create a safe environment for you to visit and we’ve made some changes to how we do things. Everyone will have a part to play in keeping our gym safe, and we’ll be asking you to follow a few rules too.
What are we doing to keep you safe?
Keeping you safe and healthy is our number one priority. That’s why we’re introducing new cleaning procedures and social distancing measures, we have been guided by the experts at UK Active, the UK government and Public Health England.
Members will be encouraged to sanitise their hands upon entry and additional hand sanitisers have been positioned at key areas across the club.
Cleaning and disinfecting: We’ll be sanitising gym equipment throughout the day and cleaning the entire club every night. All staff have had cleaning training and they’ll be using a two-stage process including a detergent, followed by a disinfectant.
Social distancing: You’ll see new social distancing signs around the gym, including one-way systems where possible. We are also limiting the number of members in the club and are unable to open the lockers/showers as we are unable to maintain the correct social distancing in these areas.
Changes to classes: We will not be running classes when we open, however we have moved some equipment into the studio to allow more space for training. We will be reviewing the class timetable often and will keep all of our members up to date with any changes.
Protecting you and our team: we’ve installed plastic shields at our reception desks and we’ll be providing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to our staff to be used when necessary.
How you can keep yourself and others safe. To keep our gym as safe and clean as possible, we need your help too. We ask that you follow a few simple rules when you visit our club.
Before coming to the gym
Stay at home if you’re unwell: Please don’t come to the gym if you feel sick of have COVID-19 symptoms.
Arrive ready to work out: Please come in your workout gear as changing rooms are not in use so please think about how much you’re bringing with you. We advise against wearing face masks as these can hinder your breathing while exercising, and gloves aren’t recommended as they can’t be easily cleaned – please use the hand sanitiser provided. bring a full water bottle please don’t bring a sweat towel.
Pre-book your workout: You’ll need to book your gym session in advance if you would like to use the gym. You can do this using the Clubright app or calling the club. This will be available from Saturday 25th July 2020
While you’re at the gym
Check-in in at reception: Try to arrive not more than 5 minutes early and follow the social distancing rules while you’re waiting for your session to begin. We have introduced a barcode reader this making your check in touch free. You can use the barcode on your Clubright app, if you don’t have the app, we can also issue you with a key card. When your session is over, please leave the gym as quickly as possible.
Follow the social distancing signs: Keep to the one-way system and try to stay at least 2 meters from others as much as possible.
Clean your equipment and mats: We ask that this is carried out before and after use with the cleaning stations around the gym.
Use hand sanitising stations: You’ll find these before you reach reception and throughout the gym. Make sure you follow the correct hand washing procedures after using the ladies.
If you’re not ready to come back just yet. Whenever you’re ready, we’ll be here to make your return as straightforward as possible.
We’ll keep you updated on any changes. We’re monitoring the situation closely and we hope to make the rest of our services and facilities available again soon, dependant on government guidelines. Thank you for your continued patience.
Also, we want to reassure you that we’re fully prepared in the event of a second wave. If there is a reported case of COVID-19 in our club, we’ll tell you straight away and close the club for a full clean of the entire building.
We ask for all members / staff to update their contact details on the Clubright app or in TP Fitness Gym for participation in the local contact tracking and tracing programme.
